The sensor is sold with a 75% calibration kit. It is capable of detecting temperature changes in the humidor, as well as variations in humidity levels.
Intelligent, it keeps track of the different daily, monthly, and even yearly fluctuations. This allows you to check the performance of your hygrometer and your humidor in general. This data is accessible directly through the mobile application. The BOVEDA sensor also warns you when the freshness of the BOVEDA humidipak is outdated. Even better, if someone moves or opens your humidor in your absence, the smart sensor informs you in real time via a mobile alert.
The device operates with a battery (included) and interacts via a compatible iOS and Android application. Simple to use and intuitive, it is not at all necessary to have advanced computer knowledge to use it.
Once the sensor has been acquired, simply download the dedicated application (from the Apple Store or Google Play) to link it. You will also need to remove the tab from the calibration kit.Insert the battery into the device, activate Bluetooth on your smartphone, then go to "My Valuables" on the mobile app. After logging in or creating a Boveda account if you don't already have one, tap the icon at the top right, then tap "Link a sensor" to connect your device. Follow the steps indicated. Normally, your sensor is connected. If not, refer to the manual to reset it.
Attention, to calibrate your sensor, allow a 24-hour delay after performing this procedure. Go to the mobile application and select your device. Go to the settings at the top right of your screen. Select "Calibrate" while preparing your kit. From there, press "Yes, 1 point." The sensor must be placed in the calibration kit, close it, and select "I'm ready to start." You just have towait 24 hours for the device to sync and detect all the necessary information. The application will automatically send you an alert when the device is calibrated and operational. It is only at that moment that you can place the kit in your cigar humidor and let it work.
The concern of preserving one's cigars even in one's absence is common to all aficionados. BOVEDA's smart sensor has this functionality. Thus, even when on a business trip, on vacation, or otherwise, you can keep an eye on your cigars.
Remote monitoring is available using two Android systems (either two smartphones, or a tablet and a smartphone, for example). You will need to download the BOVEDA app, making sure to activate Bluetooth and the location service. Then simply connect to his Boveda account and turn off the Bluetooth on the first device. On the second device, you need to go to "My Valuables," then detect the Bluetooth icon at the top right. The second device (the one that will remain in place) must always be plugged into a power outlet and have Bluetooth active. Be careful, on Apple systems, you should disable sleep mode so that the connection is constant.
