Manufacturer of lamps with a catalytic diffusion system and other home fragrance accessories, the brand celebrates its 120th anniversary in 2018. Enough to confirm undeniable expertise and impeccable product quality.

Maurice Berger is a pharmacy preparer in Paris. In 1898, he developed a catalytic lamp to purify the air in enclosed hospital rooms. He filed a patent and increased the capacity of his product by adding perfume branded Berger Paris. This is how the first Lampe Berger was born. They quickly became coveted, to the point that Maurice Berger began marketing them to the general public. He opened his own store called Lampe Berger in Paris, and people flocked to buy his products.
In the 1930s, the success of Berger lamps was at its peak. It was then that many famous figures such as Coco Chanel, Pablo Picasso, Jean Cocteau, and even Colette, associated themselves with the brand by owning their own Berger lamp. The simple little catalytic lamp now became a full-fledged decorative element, appreciated both for its fragrances and for its aesthetics.
Maison Berger passes from one leader to another, but all are true enthusiasts. This is why the products continue to reinvent themselves, so as to meet the demand and expectations of customers. The lamps from Maison Berger are still highly valued, to the point that management imposes diversification. It was then in 1950 that ceramic lamps appeared. By calling on renowned porcelain makers and decorators, the hand-painted lamps were immediately sought after.
Ten years later, production became industrialized to meet demand, and only a few models were still handmade. In 1970, the lamp became a true decorative object, which led the company to create more original models. In 1993, an association called the Cercle des Collectionneurs de Lampes Berger (CCLB) was even established! It was not until the 2000s that collaborations with master perfumers, glassmakers, and porcelain makers, as well as designers, were officially signed. In addition to lamps, the brand also produces Maison Berger Paris perfumes, fragrancing accessories, sprays, etc.
Today, after more than a century of creations, Maison Berger lamps have sold 5 million liters of perfumes and 800,000 lamps worldwide. They are distributed in no fewer than 56 countries and have 7,000 stores or points of sale around the globe. The group has been recognized as a Living Heritage Company since 2015.

In 2018, following the diversification of the products offered by the brand, the current leaders decided to change the charismatic name of Lampe Berger. Indeed, by offering more than just lamps, it was necessary that each product such as scented bouquets, Maison Berger Paris-specific candles, refills for Berger lamps, etc., could find their place within the family range. This has now been the case, under the name Maison Berger Paris.
All the company's reputation rests solely on the family name of its creator; it was important for the new management (Argos Soditic) that the name Berger be retained, in order to pay tribute to the creator of the lamps, but also so that customers could have a point of reference regarding their habits.
