Does not fit certain ST DUPONT lighters despite their red dot

Buying the refill was pointless: the diameter of the refill is much smaller than that of the ST DUPONT lighter I have, which dates back to 1972. Yet, there is a red dot inside the lighter. Feels like I just threw 20 euros in the trash!

We are sincerely sorry to learn that the refill does not seem to be compatible with your lighter.
The red refill is indeed intended for S.T. Dupont Ligne 1 Grand Modèle lighters as well as for S.T. Dupont Jéroboam table lighters and the cylindrical models of the S.T. Dupont brand.
If your lighter dates from 1972 and indeed belongs to the Ligne 1 Grand Modèle range or to a table lighter model, the red refill should indeed be compatible.
We invite you to contact S.T. Dupont's after-sales service directly, specifying the exact model (and possibly the serial number). They will be able to confirm the compatibility with your 1972 model and explain why the fit does not work correctly in your case.

Incorrect information on your website

Hello,

I was unable to fill my DUPONT line 1 large lighter with the red refill (mentioned on the product page)

Then I saw this link on a customer review for correctly choosing the gas cartridge, and I should have taken the yellow one...

Anyway, I lost €20

The red gas refills are indeed, as our description indicates, "Compatible with S.T Dupont lighters of the Ligne 1 Grand Modèle".
The yellow refills are for the "Ligne 1 Petit Modèle" and the "Ligne 2".
If it is a yellow gas refill that allows you to fill your lighter, it must ultimately be part of the Ligne 1 Petit Modèle.

Gas also so expensive!
