The “Pirate” collection at Elie Bleu

Elie Bleu’s “Pirate” collection plays on a childhood daydream, and understandably so: who has never imagined sailing the seas in search of well-hidden treasure? Now that you are an adult, you can keep your own treasure in a case designed for the purpose, in this instance the new Aquarium cigar box from Elie Bleu.

Whether your reference is Red Rackham or Luffy from One Piece, the skulls on those black flags no doubt mean something to you. Sabre in hand, hungry for treasure and used to long sea crossings, many pirates smoked a pipe and some also had cigars. The Aquarium box borrows from that world of symbols to house your cigars.

The Aquarium humidor in detail

With a capacity of 110 to 130 cigars across three levels, the marquetry Aquarium box comes with two humidifiers and a needle hygrometer. It is a small jewel of a humidor, lined with cedar inside and made of twelve species of wood outside. Note the marquetry across the whole of the aquarium scene, and the metal transfers used for the details. The box measures 32 cm wide by 27 cm deep and 23.5 cm high.

The decoration takes you underwater, with unusual ornamental paintings, each side carrying a different scene. The Aquarium humidor is a limited edition: only 188 numbered examples exist. If you want to entrust your cigars to it, the price is €5,849.
