In the world of smoking accessories there are small boxes, some of which are closer to cases. They are used to store everything a smoker needs, such as tobacco, papers, a lighter and much else besides. Here is a look at the models available.

One storage box, several sizes

The storage box is also known as a stash box or a spliff box. Its purpose is to gather all your smoking equipment in one place, out of sight of prying eyes and curious little hands. It has one or several compartments depending on the model, and comes in a variety of shapes and materials.

If you only have cigarettes to put away, choose a slim, small model that is easy to carry. People who roll their own cigarettes will tend to go for a medium-sized model with at least 2 compartments. And those who like everything in its place will choose a box with several compartments, sometimes even a model that can be closed with a padlock.

From storage to craftsmanship is only a short step

Some boxes are made from plain plastic, while others are made from wood, which gives them a rustic and rather warm look. A box of that kind can be left in view in a living room without looking out of place or drawing attention to what is inside.

Metal models also carry cheerful illustrations. Easy to carry, they suit a trip, a stay away or a short break of a few days. Some storage boxes also serve as a conservation case, keeping tobacco in the best possible conditions.

As with all products, prices remain affordable for most of the range. If you are after something more elaborate, however, prices can quickly climb from a few tens to a few hundred euros.
