CBD: an anti-wrinkle action on the skin?
Published on
Relaxing, calming, legal and, so it is said, a natural anti-wrinkle agent: CBD is credited with unexpected properties. That, at least, is what a new study on the effects of CBD on the skin puts forward.
CBD: an ally against the marks of time?
Nobody escapes it: time leaves its furrows, deeper or shallower, on every one of our faces. As it loses collagen, the skin loses elasticity and suppleness. But sun exposure also accelerates skin ageing, as do pollution, lack of sleep, alcohol consumption, a poor diet and many other factors.
There is good news, since it is possible to use CBD against the effects of time: researchers report that cannabidiol acts directly on wrinkles. Presented as a genuine antioxidant, CBD is described as working against the free radicals that damage the skin. Its anti-inflammatory properties are also singled out, since cannabidiol is used in cases of acne to stimulate the renewal of skin cells.

How is CBD used on the skin?
CBD oils can be applied directly to the skin in the evening, before going to bed, where they act as a highly nourishing night mask. If you prefer, there are also CBD-based day and night creams intended to firm the skin and restore elasticity to so-called mature skin.
If you are attached to your usual creams and do not want to change them, note that taking CBD orally is presented as offering the same benefits. The number of drops varies with the CBD content. To avoid mistakes, follow the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Bear in mind, however, that a good sun cream, in summer as in winter, remains essential to protect your skin from UV damage. It is in fact one of the only ways of preserving it. In other words, CBD cream does not replace applying a sun cream as well.
