Salt Bae teases his cigar brand

He is a well-known figure on social media. The Turkish chef Nusret Gökçe has just posted another odd video in which he “plays” with a cigar. According to some sources, he is about to set up his own brand.

A video that leaves little to the imagination

At the beginning of December, the man his fans call “Salt Bae” posted a new video, but this time he is not seen salting or carving a piece of meat. He is simply sitting down, holding a cigar in his hand. After sniffing it, running his fingers over it and inspecting it, he ends up putting it to his mouth.

Then, on his Instagram account, among the videos and photographs of the chef salting, carving or serving meat, several posts have involved cigars since December. He is seen at times at a poker table, at others sitting in a chair handling an unlit cigar.

A new cigar brand in Dubai?

A good many rumours suggest that the Turkish chef is looking to invest in the world of the cigar. Some say he wants to take control of this fairly closed sector, others claim that he is setting up his own brand. According to these accounts, after food he would now be turning to cigars.

Behind his trademark round glasses, is the well-known Salt Bae turning into a formidable businessman? He is certainly leaving the question open, not least after his latest video, in which he wears a striped suit and a roll-neck jumper and holds his cigar, his hair smoothed back and tied. He turns the cigar in his hand, smells it and draws on it. He then examines a well-filled cigar box.
