An idea that has lasted more than 120 years

Maurice Berger worked as a pharmacist’s assistant. One day, he had the idea of creating a device to purify the air in hospitals. He used a catalytic diffusion process intended to neutralise smells and then break them down. He quickly patented his design, then brought it to market.

Effective as they were, Lampe Berger lamps soon began to attract attention. Well-known figures from the art world took an interest in the product, and some even wanted to work with its designer. Unique creations have appeared ever since, each more original and more finely worked than the last. Maison Berger keeps innovating in both its lamps and its range of fragrances, and can claim to satisfy every type of user. Lamps created in France

Maison Berger has its head office in Normandy, and that is where the lamps are manufactured. This French know-how is a real asset for a brand that distributes its products worldwide. Some 150 employees put their heart into the work to keep the tradition alive. Maison Berger reports selling 480,000 lamps and 5 million litres of fragrance a year.

No fewer than 7,000 points of sale are spread across 50 countries, and most of the turnover comes from exports. Maison Berger now holds the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label, awarded for its distinctive lamps.

Lampe Berger lamps come in several ranges. All of them look like sophisticated perfume bottles that draw the eye in a room.
