The Italian pipe maker Ser Jacopo S.R.L

Founded in 1983 in Pesaro by Giancarlo Guidi, who features proudly on the logo, Ser Jacopo s.r.l is one of the best-known companies in Italy, specialising in the making of Italian pipes.

Giancarlo Guidi and his whole team attach great importance to the design of their pipes, all of which are made by hand. Their pipes have to be original while keeping the elegance and the main features of a more classic pipe…

One of their chief sources of inspiration has been the American Indians. It was by observing them smoking the peace pipe that the makers created the various models found in the collection simply called “Calumet”.

The most important Ser Jacopo collection remains the “Delecta”. It is the one that inspired the creation of the others. In the pipes of collections such as “Pipaccia” or “Luciano”, one always finds similar lines in the shape of the pipes and, above all, the strong character carefully given to each model.

Among all the collections, one stands out a little more for its sources of inspiration and its result: the Picta line. This range pays tribute to various painters, including the famous Van Gogh, three of whose paintings strongly inspired the Ser Jacopo makers. Giancarlo Guidi also says that he likes to welcome each new year with a new pipe, of which only 333 examples will be sold.

Ser Jacopo s.r.l is also one of the few firms to use a special tool that allows its makers to drill through the shank of extravagantly shaped pipes so that the smoke can travel properly towards the stem.

Made famous by its pipes, each more beautiful and original than the last, Ser Jacopo produces around 3500 pipes a year, a third of which are sold in the United States.
