A young Paris leather craftsman whose work has been widely recognised through his house Pinel & Pinel, Fred Pinel has moved into the world of the cigar. A closer look at his interest in the subject and at his distinctive creations.

The cigar range of the house of Pinel & Pinel

Fred Pinel grew up in Paris with his family. He loved visiting his grandparents so he could spend endless hours in the attic, which he described as a genuine gold mine. When their house was sold, Fred kept an old suitcase and converted it to hold his collection of cigar cases. That was how this artist at heart decided to break with convention. After making his name in several fields, he finally chose to create his own trunks and luxury leather accessories. That is how the house of Pinel & Pinel came into being.

Fred Pinel's interest in leather goods extends to the objects that surround the cigar. The house of Pinel & Pinel therefore moved into that field with an exclusive collection. From the XXL trunk that doubles as a humidor to the two-cigar case that fits in a pocket, cigar storage is now covered with some style.

The Fumoir collection by Pinel & Pinel

Named "Fumoir", the cigar collection at the Pinel & Pinel brand is made up of 9 pieces. Made entirely by hand by the cabinetmakers and trunk makers of the house of Pinel & Pinel, these storage systems are cases in the fullest sense. Conditions inside are optimised so that the aromas of the cigars are preserved.

A closer look at the Mini Cigar Trunk from the new collection

The Mini Cigar Trunk is one of the two most recent models added to the Fumoir collection. Its name was not chosen at random: unlike the Ultimate Cigar Trunk, which stands 1.80 m tall, the Mini Cigar Trunk measures only around 50 cm by 35. Even so, it holds up to 120 cigars on 3 shelves. Mounted on a palladium-plated nickel stand, it is designed to be shown off and will draw the eye of any visitor.

As well as being practical, the Mini Cigar Trunk is a fine object in its own right. It takes up the codes of the trunks Fred Pinel is known for, with an interior in cedar wood veneer and an exterior in calfskin. The finish is impeccable, in particular the brass and palladium-plated nickel fittings. Humidity is handled by a Boveda system.
