Gaïatrend, the innovative French company

Didier Martzel says he wanted to steer his sons away from cigarettes, and set about designing a range of e-liquids himself. That is how Gaïatrend was born.

From a personal idea to a family business

The group has been based in France since 2008, more precisely in the Moselle department, at Rohrbach-lès-Bitche. There, Didier Martzel produced the Alfaliquid e-liquid, which quickly became a fixture of the e-cigarette market. In less than ten years, the company became the leading French manufacturer of e-liquid.

Given how well the product sold, the firm now lists around a hundred different flavours in order to cover the tastes of its customers. Having first developed the range with his own family in mind, Didier Martzel now runs Gaïatrend as a business aimed at adult smokers.

Success beyond French borders

As in the fashion world, French manufacturing appeals to buyers abroad, who see it as a guarantee of a reliable product. Gaïatrend has therefore had little difficulty establishing itself on international markets such as the United States, Eastern Europe and China.

Because consumer tastes differ from one country to the next, Gaïatrend has invested in its research and development laboratory. Its specialists keep a constant watch on the market with the aim of expanding the range of e-liquids.

Standards and the environment

Quality is not treated as optional at Gaïatrend. Every product is designed to meet QSE standards, the French framework covering quality, safety and the environment, with a stated target of zero defects. Each bottle produced goes through a strict quality check at every stage of production.

Gaïa means Mother Earth, a nod to the planet. Gaïatrend states that it works to reduce the environmental impact of its e-liquid production: little waste, recycled and recyclable materials, limited water use, renewable energy on site, and so on. With that ambition, the company says it is taking a long-term view for its customers and for the planet alike.
