The Festival del Habano 2024

As it does every year, the Festival del Habano puts the Cuban cigar industry in the spotlight. It takes place in Havana, Cuba, the world capital of the cigar. 2024 marks the 24th edition of the festival, with further product announcements expected for aficionados.

The programme of the Festival del Habano has not been announced yet, which adds to the anticipation ahead of an event that opens on 26 February and runs for 5 days. Visitors learn about the origin and the growing of the cigar produced by the best known Sino-Cuban group in Cuba. Until 1 March 2024, the days are given over to talks and events built around the cigar.

There are also visits to the island's main growing regions, and the opportunity to enter the largest manufacturing plants. Specialists pass on their knowledge of the subject, and a few details about forthcoming releases may well slip out.

A full programme and visitors from all over the world

More than 1,300 participants are expected at the Festival del Habano. Cubans will of course be there, but visitors are also travelling in from 70 countries. It is therefore an international gathering, bringing together the keenest followers of Cuban cigars.

Each day has its own announcements, and over the week no fewer than 2,000 visitors will be able to see the work of the 80 exhibiting companies, which come from every part of the world. Trinidad may be the surprise of this 2024 edition. Craftspeople, manufacturers, suppliers and collectors are gathered in the same place, sharing an interest in the cigar and its accessories, alongside some 200 specialist journalists reporting from Havana for the event.

Three evenings are also devoted to the many brands and to the launches of new products. The one participants are least likely to miss, however, is the gala dinner that closes the festival. 1,200 guests attend a meal built around Cuban food and culture, where the forthcoming launches are presented.
