Cann’Agri Expo and the results of the 2025 Platinum CBD Cup

On 19 and 20 April 2025, the city of Nantes hosted the Cann'Agri Expo, an immersive trade show devoted to the wellness hemp sector, held together with the third edition of the Platinum CBD Cup. The event brought together professionals, enthusiasts and the merely curious around the latest developments in the sector, providing a platform to exchange knowledge and to reward French and European CBD growers. Here is a look back at the event, at its history and at the results of the 2025 Platinum CBD Cup.

Cann'Agri Expo 2025: an immersive show at the heart of CBD

The poster for the 2025 Cann'Agri Expo announced the show on 19 and 20 April at L'Agronaute, in Nantes. Held in the green setting of L'Agronaute, a former urban horticultural greenhouse, the Cann'Agri Expo is intended as an immersive experience open to trade visitors and to the general public alike. Its stated aim is to educate, to entertain and to encourage connections within the CBD sector, in an informal and instructive atmosphere. Visitors, whether seasoned or simply curious, can see a wide range of exhibitors presenting derived products, professional growing equipment and the newest arrivals on the market.

The 2025 programme included a large number of exhibitor stands, themed talks on subjects ranging from cannabis legalisation to the medical applications of CBD and advanced growing techniques, along with a variety of side events. Visitors were able to attend tattooing sessions by guest artists, sample an unusual food offering on site, and even round off the experience with a dub concert closing the show on Sunday 20 April. The event ran over two days at L'Agronaute (2 rue du Sénégal, 44200 Nantes), with affordable tickets, 5 to 10 euros for the weekend, available online.

Platinum CBD Cup 2025: a competition on a European scale

Alongside the show, the 2025 Platinum CBD Cup, a competition rewarding the best CBD products, reached a new level by opening for the first time to growers from other European countries. That change widened the field to a European scale. In all, 34 growers took part, entering 75 different products across several categories of CBD flower and resin. A panel of independent experts assessed the entries in order to guarantee an impartial and professional competition.

Notably, the public also had a say. "Jury packs" were put on sale ahead of the event, allowing volunteer consumers to test an anonymised sample of the competing products at home and then give their verdict in an online vote. The scheme strengthened the community's involvement in the competition, alongside the professional panel. The winners of the 2025 Platinum CBD Cup were announced on 20 April, at an awards ceremony closing the Cann'Agri Expo.

The results of the 2025 Platinum CBD Cup

The 2025 Platinum CBD Cup had six competing product categories: Outdoor CBD Flower, Greenhouse CBD Flower, Indoor CBD Flower, Dry Hash, Ice-O-Lator (resin extracted using iced water) and Edibles. In each category the panel named three placed entries, and a public prize also rewarded the consumers' favourite product (🔸). Here are the full results of this edition:

  • Outdoor CBD Flower: 1st Lemon Grace – Happy Pousse / 2nd Island Kush – Art'izane / 3rd Cheese Cake – L'Herbe Enchantée. Public prize: Alpenrose – Cannafleur.

The public prize is awarded by the consumers who took part through the jury packs, while the other prizes are decided by the professional panel. Among the entrants, the French brand Happy Pousse stood out by placing in three different categories, two of them in first place, in this 2025 edition. Its Lemon Grace variety, for instance, took the gold medal in both Outdoor and Indoor, whatever the growing method used. That haul of trophies makes Happy Pousse one of the most prominent growers on the French CBD scene this year.

From a shared interest to a fixture in the calendar

Behind the success of the Cann'Agri Expo and the Platinum CBD Cup lies a voluntary-sector initiative. The event is organised by an association founded in 2022 by two well-informed enthusiasts of the plant, Yann and Thomas. Yann, who chairs the association, and Thomas, who handles logistics, have long shared the same aim: to promote the legal cannabis (CBD) sector through festive and educational events. Their work together turned an ambitious project into reality, namely a show and a competition serving as a shop window for the know-how of CBD professionals. After a first Platinum CBD Cup in 2023, the very first Cann'Agri Expo was held in 2024, at the same time as the second Platinum Cup. The 2025 edition, Cann'Agri Expo #2 and Platinum CBD Cup #3, confirms that this annual event is here to stay and still growing.

In the space of three years, the Cann'Agri Expo has established itself as the leading CBD event in France, drawing a growing community of visitors and professionals. More broadly, the Cann'Agri Expo and the Platinum CBD Cup illustrate the rise of a fast-changing sector in which innovation, quality and craftsmanship are put forward. The event has become a place to see the latest trends, to connect the different players in the sector and to shape the future of CBD in France and in Europe. A date is already pencilled in for the next edition, so firmly has the show settled into the legal cannabis landscape.
