Bigg Ice Rockz stones: the test

Hello everyone. Today I wanted to try out the new Bigg Ice Rockz stones. While I was at it, I put together a short video of the test of the Ice Rockz hookah stones.

"Intriguing"

That was my first impression on opening this small pot holding little stones sitting in liquid. The idea comes from Bigg, a brand that specialises in articles for shishas and hookahs. So what exactly is in these pots of Ice Rockz stones? Here is the explanation.

Bigg Ice Rockz, also known as steam stones or shisha stones, are a new take on mineral stones loaded with flavour, intended to replace your shisha tobacco. Presented as cooling, Ice Rockz hookah stones are made up of a gelled liquid flavoured with various iced aromas. There are more than 20 flavours, from the classics to the more unusual, among them pineapple, cherry, apple and fresh mint. On top of that, Ice Rockz Steam Stones contain neither nicotine nor tobacco, and give off a white vapour with an intense taste, similar to that of an electronic cigarette.

"Very easy to use."

First, remember to shake the pot well so that the liquid sitting at the bottom is spread over the stones and soaks into them. Then simply place a few stones in your bowl, cover with aluminium foil, pierce it and light up.

My tip: here I am using an Aladin Reactor shisha bowl to stop the liquid running down into the vase, which makes the flavour more intense.

Note that the stones cannot be reused, so it is best not to put them back in the pot after your session.

So, the verdict. It is surprising: Ice Rockz lives up to its name, as you are immediately met by a very pronounced taste. I also note that the flavour comes across as more natural than the one found in conventional shisha tobacco. The vapour itself is softer, denser and much whiter. The advantage of this format is that there is no smoke. It really is a different way of using a shisha.

Thomas's view

Seeing white vapour drifting out of the room, Thomas from the office next door could not resist coming to try it in turn. His conclusion is much the same.

"The taste is really pronounced, it is genuinely different from a conventional shisha, but I am pleasantly surprised. It does resemble the vapour of an electronic cigarette, and the taste is stronger and fresher."
