A different kind of cigar encyclopaedia

Teddy Pécot is a cigar enthusiast. Thanks to a call for donations, he was able to fund his book and publish it himself. It is a handsome volume devoted to everything its author has to say about Cuban cigars.

It is a book aimed at newcomers and specialists alike. It reads more like an encyclopaedia than a conventional book. Very thorough, it covers the growing areas and the brands, but also goes into precise detail on most Cuban cigars. Another point in its favour: only a very small number of copies were printed, which makes it a rare item.

A book in three distinct parts

The first part of Teddy Pécot’s cigar book serves as an introduction. It takes you through the history of the Cuban cigar, its cultivation and its manufacture, as well as techniques and tasting.

In the second part of Les cigares cubains, Voyage aux 4 coins de l’hexagone, you will find a presentation of each of the Cuban brands, taken from the Cuban Cigar Website and translated into French. Teddy Pécot has taken care to go back in time to present the brands that no longer exist today as well.

The third part, finally, works as an encyclopaedia, listing virtually every cigar from every brand. Each one is taken apart and described in detail by French and other European enthusiasts, some better known than others. You will also find interviews with a number of French figures from the world of the cigar.
