Tips for Successfully Refilling Your Zippo Lighter
How to fill your Zippo with lighter fluid? Here is an advice article that will allow you to easily refill your Zippo lighter in just a few minutes. Tip: to fill your Zippo lighter, we recommend using Zippo brand lighter fluid; other fuels work properly but tend to cause clogging and reduce the quality of the flame. Do not use gas lighters.
WARNING.You are going to handle flammable products, do not refill your Zippo near a heat source such as a fireplace, for example.
How to proceed with this refill?
Remove the insert* from its case. Underneath the insert, you will find the felt pad as well as a brass screw.
Lift the felt and then fill using a bottle of Zippo lighter fluid until the cotton is soaked by applying a few small presses on the bottle (about 6 or 7). Otherwise, a small hole in the middle of the felt allows you to place the bottle on top.
Replace the insert in the case, making sure to put it in the correct direction: the cam* should be on the side of the lid.
Be careful when lighting your Zippo as fluid may have spread everywhere. Therefore, light it away from any source or flammable object.
If, during refueling, gasoline has spilled on the wick, it is preferable to wipe the Zippo before lighting it and then take the time to let the flame burn off the excess gasoline. This way, this little inconvenience will not happen again during future lightings.
